DENTAL IMPLANTS AND IMPLANT-SUPPORTED DENTURES IN BATTLE GROUND, WA

PROCEDURES AND COST:

A dental implant is a titanium post, surgically placed at the site where a tooth was lost.  Although this may sound painful, most of our patients find there is very minimal if any discomfort and they can return to work the same day.  Healing takes a few months before the prosthetic tooth or denture can be securely attached.  But don’t worry, you won’t have to go without teeth because you have the option of a temporary prosthetic.

Unfortunately, not everyone is a candidate for dental implants.  The availability of the jawbone, the health or your gums, and the relationship of your teeth to each other.  All of these factors are part of the comprehensive and thorough examination at your initial visit.  We encourage you to come in for a free consultation to determine if you are a candidate!

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF DENTAL IMPLANTS?

There are numerous benefits to dental implants over conventional replacements or procedures, some of these benefits are:

DENTAL IMPLANTS HELP PRESERVE YOUR JAWBONE
The human jawbone maintains its integrity through proper stimulation from the roots of the teeth. When a tooth is missing, that portion of the jawboneatrophies and wastes away, and this is the reason why denture wearers have the “sunken” appearance.  Dental implants help in maintaining the integrity of the jaw bone over time.

DENTAL IMPLANTS HELP SAVE THE ADJACENT TEETH
Traditional replacements like dental bridges, or removable partial dentures, permanently damage the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth space.  Dental implants are independent of the neighboring teeth and will not harm or affect your natural teeth.

DENTAL IMPLANTS ARE A LIFETIME RESTORATION
Properly placed and maintained dental implants can last you a lifetime. Crowns, bridges, and partials only have an average lifespan of 5 to 10 years.  In the long run, a properly placed and maintained dental implant can help save you money, time and aggravation.

DENTAL IMPLANTS FEEL NATURAL
Dental implants feel and function just like your teeth. There are no restrictions on the types of food you can eat. Many find that they can return to eating the kinds of foods they’ve missed for years with dental implants.  With other alternatives, especially with removable partial dentures and dentures, most patients find that they cannot chew harder foods.

The next question people ask is “How much do IMPLANTS cost?” or “Are IMPLANTS expensive?”

Depending on their insurance coverage, many patients are surprised to learn there may not be a significant cost difference between a three-unit bridge and a single implant.  We have treated many patients for implant retained dentures who would tell you they couldn’t put a price on their quality of life or the improvement in their self-esteem.
